Baltimore Country Club is actively searching for an experienced Irrigation Technician that takes initiative and is a proven leader with experience managing irrigation and pumping stations, including winterization and start-up in the beginning of season. This person will work directly with both course Superintendents and the Director of Horticulture to ensure systems are in good working order on a daily basis. This is a Full-time role with some overtime hours available; weekends, snow removal, and Holidays are required seasonally.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A IRRIGATION TECHNITIAN

This role will be responsible for maintenance and repairs of irrigation piping systems, sprinkler heads, and Toro VP satellites with Lynx Central controller. In addition, this person will supervise maintenance and repairs to water transfer and pumping systems. Experience tracking wire, electrical troubleshooting skills, maintenance, and repairs of Precision Turf Fans is required. Searching for a well-organized and initiative-taking individual who manages inventory and purchasing responsibilities. Must have ability to successfully lead a small team of staff when installing new irrigation projects.

Current systems consist of 21 holes installed by Leibold Irrigation in 2006 and the remaining 15 holes in 1990. We also have two Watertronics stations, one installed in 2006 and the other in 2018. In July 2024, the Club will begin the implementation of our Short Game Practice Facility construction, followed by our East Course Project in 2025, which involves restoring our A.W. Tillinghast back to its original 1924 design. This person will play a key role in these and numerous future projects at the Club.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience servicing and maintaining irrigation systems with a willingness to expand knowledge and skill set. Experience with Toro golf course electric control systems and Watertronics pump stations is preferred.
