Job DescriptionJob Description

Purpose of Position:

The Refrigeration Technician performs major mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Hydrovac tubes and ammonia systems as well as the water and air systems for the entire facility. Ensure the safe reliable and efficient operation of all plant Refrigeration machinery and equipment in assigned areas. Responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

Accountabilities:

  • Safely perform major mechanical maintenance on Refrigeration system and equipment.
  • Operate the ammonia refrigeration system
  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on all equipment.
  • Conduct departmental safety audits which include guards, eye wash equipment and work area inspections.
  • Verify Daily Refrigeration Logs are completed
  • Perform general cleaning of the systems and work area.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • RETA – CARO Level certification
  • Knowledge of electricity, welding and plumbing
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid drivers license
