Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Priority will be given to applicants with volunteer management, community outreach and/or marketing experience.

GOAL: 

The Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator will play an essential role in increasing awareness of Rising Treetops at Oakhurst within Monmouth County and will grow and coordinate its Volunteer Program. This position will ensure that necessary processes, events and activities are effective in introducing the community and volunteers to Rising Treetops' programs and services.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES:

• Oversee the volunteer recruiting process and build relationships with local volunteer programs (schools, local businesses/corporations, etc.), including applications and interviews of potential volunteers to match their talents with organizational needs
• Work with other staff and volunteers to organize volunteer trainings as needed
• Coordinate volunteers and the needed materials/supplies for office projects, program support, special events, community outreach efforts, and facilities maintenance, and help develop budgets for volunteer project-related costs 
• Serve as the site coordinator for tracking volunteer activities - track time in/time out, check waivers and releases and help maintain the volunteer management database.
• Develop, build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with volunteers and facilitate effective communications with and between volunteers
• Assist with volunteer recognition initiatives and develop volunteer retention strategies
• Develop and manage the annual schedule of volunteer opportunities/projects in coordination with the Director of Services & Operations and board volunteer liaison
• Make fundraising-related recommendations to Rising Treetops' administrative staff and board members when appropriate, as identified through the volunteer program

COMMUNITY OUTREACH RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, local businesses, schools, and organizations
• Assist with organizing local Rising Treetops' community building efforts (yard sale, carnival, and other community events) to raise awareness and educate the public about Rising Treetops' mission and services, and attend relevant community events and fairs
• Help develop content for social media posts and newsletters, including assisting with photography and family client profile interviews, with a goal to elevate and increase the organization's social media presence 
• Help develop relationships with elected officials and help strengthen the capacity of community supporters to assist with government relations goals
• Assist staff to develop relationships with community partners
• Work with Rising Treetops' administrative staff and board members to identify community members as potential donors.

LEVEL OF LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Highly proficient in English and a conversational Spanish proficiency a plus.
