Flagstaff Surgical Associates is a busy medical office clinic with over ten physicians and several mid-level providers. FSA offers General Surgery, Urological, Ear, Nose & Throat, Audiology and Allergy care to patients across Northern Arizona. FSA prides itself on compassionate patient care and quality healthcare treatment.

Position Overview

The Medical Assistant assists Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and answering phone calls.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Open and prepare rooms for clinic.
  • Rooming patients, take vitals, record and confirm medical history
  • Assistant providers during exams and minor procedures, including wound care and surgery follow-up visits
  • Answer incoming back-office calls, check voicemails daily as assigned and return calls in a timely manner
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments as needed
  • Clean exam rooms, sterilize instruments, set up trays for procedures
  • Work documents, telephone encounters, and labs need to be assigned to appropriate provider
  • Complete a 30-day training schedule with Lead/Senior Medical Assistant
  • Chart Prep – Confirm all records are in chart for new patient consults and follow up on labs/imaging/pathology
  • Additional tasks may be added as needed and assigned by management
