KMC is looking for a Tax Manager to serve our clients in an advisory capacity to solve complex tax regulated challenges, research tax questions offering suggestions for tax planning, and prepare and review tax returns for individuals and organizations. Tax Managers will take a lead role in all aspects of tax engagements, supervise and mentor staff, while building and maintaining relationships with clients.


Essential Functions:

  • Be a trusted leader of the tax team providing tax and consulting services to clients.
  • Preparing complex C corp., S corp., partnership, high net-worth, as well as individual and organization tax returns.
  • Review individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns prepared by tax team for accuracy.
  • Research, resolve, and draft documents involving complex tax matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
  • Oversee complete tax research projects for a variety of clients in diverse industries.
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently efficiently meet client deadlines and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in development and coaching of other tax team members providing feedback to team members about their performance.
  • Serve as a department leader in professional development of tax staff.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA license, JD, LLM, or a Master of Science in Taxation required
  • At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, organizational, project management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong aptitude for technology and MS Suite skills.
  • Exceptional customer service with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and complete projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills with the ability to present material.
  • Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
