Job Title: FTTH Technician

Location: Hillsborough, NC

Type: Full time W2 FTTH Technician w/ health insurance, 401k, and PTO

Compensation: piece/component pay. Expected ~$85k annually. 

Are you an experienced Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Technician looking for a new opportunity in Hillsborough, NC? We have an exciting position available for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a FTTH Technician. This is a full-time position with a focus on delivering high-quality fiber optic services to residential customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. FTTH Installation and Maintenance: Execute fiber optic installations, splicing, and troubleshooting in residential settings. Ensure the delivery of reliable and high-speed fiber services to customers.

  2. Network Testing and Optimization: Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to ensure optimal network performance. Identify and resolve issues promptly to maintain a seamless customer experience.

  3. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries and providing education on FTTH services. Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.

  4. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Provide timely updates and reports to the supervisor.

  5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Follow industry best practices for the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.

Requirements:

  1. Prior FTTH Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in Fiber-to-the-Home installations, splicing, and maintenance. A strong understanding of fiber optic technology and equipment.

  2. Own Work Truck or Van: Must possess a reliable work truck or van capable of carrying a 28' telecom ladder. The vehicle should be well-maintained and meet safety standards.

  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in using fiber optic testing equipment and tools. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for FTTH installations.

  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with customers and work effectively in a team environment.

  6. Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

  7. No Visa Sponsorship: We do not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
