Position Description:

Perform installation, maintenance, and support of PC hardware, applications, printers, and wireless devices of multiple types.


List of Responsibilities:

  • Configure and install PC hardware, including installing application software, both store-bought and internally created (VIPS). Move user's critical data from one machine to another. Configure Office 365 applications, map network drives.
  • Troubleshooting Hardware problems
  • Troubleshooting Operating Systems issues
  • Troubleshooting Software issues
  • Configure and install printers, network, wireless and local.
  • Configure and install wireless devices, including but not limited to wireless PCs, tablets, phones, printers, Bluetooth devices, and scanners.
  • Working and troubleshooting mobile platforms (Android, iOS)
  • Take support calls from users and respond quickly and professionally. Calls may come in before or after normal business hours.
  • Identify malfunctioning or damaged PC components, and repair or replace as needed.
  • Work with PC vendors to identify and replace components under warranty, taking care not to void the warranty.
  • Maintain, organize and upkeep or IT related storage areas and inventories.
  • Identify printer problems, differentiating between minor problems that can be fixed in-house vs. using outside vendors
  • Maintain and upkeep of Wireless networks, clients and protocols
  • Able to react to change productively, and handle other tasks as assigned

Working Conditions:

Works primarily in an office environment, but position may require travel and working in an outdoor environment or warehouse environment. This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time. Requires good hand-eye coordination, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information. Lifts up to 50 pounds, carries up to 25 pounds. May push/pull up to 100 pounds. May stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl to install PC hardware and cables. Considerable job stress may be involved when deadlines need to be met and in handling emergency situations.


List of required experience:

  • AA degree in a related field or comparable work experience. ​

List of required technical skills:

Computer hardware (PC, monitor, printer, keyboard, mouse), ability to open PC and install necessary components, application software including Microsoft Office Suite & Adobe Acrobat, computer networking, Internet, firewall and email monitoring.
