Responsibilities

The Early Learning Center at the Whitley County YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate part-time Afternoon Team Lead to join our team with responsibilities for maintaining positive communication, working cooperatively with ELC staff, promoting programs, and ensuring the implementation of the ELC program.

  • Connect: Communicate effectively with parents, participants, and staff.
  • Serve: provide childcare support for the ELC program director and staff.
  • Lead: Enforce all program rules and policies and work with Program Director to supervise/problem-solve issues that arise in the program.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age; prefer an Associates's/Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field. Equivalent experience working with school-aged children is also accepted.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Non-exempt Part-time $15.75 -$16.25 hourly

Hours Available: Monday-Friday

Location: Armstrong Early Learning Center, Whitley County YMCA, 950 East Van Buren Street, Columbia City, IN 46725
