Position Responsibilities:
- Performing physical examinations on patients
- Educating patients and/or caregivers on their condition and diagnosis
- Formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan
- Compiling patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination
- Treating minor injuries by performing suturing, splinting, and other procedures
- Performing injections and arthrograms
- Responsible for ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and x-rays, and making diagnoses
- Assisting physician in coordinating pre and post-surgical care
- Consulting with supervising physician as needed
- Documenting and dictating patient encounters
- Participating in coding reviewing process and chart review program
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with state license required
- Up to date and current on CME credits, licenses and board certifications, required
- Three years of previous Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner experience in an Orthopedic setting is required
