Dance

Kent Place School is seeking a part-time dance teacher to focus upon our primary school (grades K-5) students. The educator who fills this position for the 2024-25 school year will join a vibrant, collaborative primary school faculty and an inspiring Performing Arts Department.

Our next part-time Dance Teacher will be an educator and dancer who

• designs engaging lessons to teach fundamental components of ballet, modern and jazz techniques, as well as basic composition
• demonstrates a commitment to equity and inclusion by introducing students to a rich and broad range of dance genres with a focus on thoughtful historic and cultural context
• collaborates with colleagues within and beyond the arts

Successful candidates will have

• a BFA in dance or BA in dance education
• a minimum of two years experience teaching dance in group classes
• demonstrated a desire to share their knowledge, skills, and passion for dance with Primary (grades K-5) School students
• experience choreographing ensemble movement for children ages K-5
• demonstrated cultural competency
• schedule flexibility
