Early Childhood Director

The Early Childhood Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of dReam Kids Academy, servicing children between the ages of 6 weeks to 4 years old. This also includes curriculum development and management, as well as staff management. The Early Childhood director will be responsible for maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education. Additionally, this individual must possess a growth mindset and have the ability to train, coach, and develop the Academy for the future with a dedication to the success of the next generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements long and short-term strategic plans consistent with the district’s vision and mission.
- Create and implement policies and procedures in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
- Ensure that the center remains in compliance with all state license requirements.
- Hire, train and provide supervision to all staff to include teachers, administrative, and support staff.
- Develop curriculums and programs for each age group; ages 6 weeks – 4 years, and after school.
- Creates and implements an early learning program that encompasses the whole child cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
- Maintain open communication with staff, parents, and students to provide updates on the center, as well as updates regarding each child’s progress and development.
- Effectively manage the center’s budget.
- Oversee all aspects of the childcare facility to ensure safety, cleanliness and proper classroom ratios.
- Manage supply inventory to ensure that necessary items are well-stocked at all times.
- Oversee innovative marketing initiatives for maximizing enrollment.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development for staff.
- Maintain up-to-date records of parental contact information, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, and all other critical data.
- Implement systems, tools and technology to ensure efficiency in all areas.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead people and provide direction.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and in crisis situations.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively direct, plan, implement and evaluate programs in a school-based environment.
- Knowledge of current applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Experience with budget preparation and control.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education or relevant certifications required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Valid Director certification for the State of Georgia or intent to obtain is required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing a childcare facility is required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as relevant software applications.
