1.- Job Summary


Our clients Engineering Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the activities of the Engineering & Maintenance Department; this includes, but is not limited to, supervision of all salaried engineering and maintenance personnel, the execution of an effective preventative/predictive maintenance program, an ongoing training program for Engineering & Maintenance personnel, the minimization of breakdowns and overall efficient operation of all plant facilities and equipment, participation in planning efforts toward facility and/or equipment modifications or additions, continuous improvement in plant operations, and adherence to all company safety and operating policies.

2.- About our client


Our client is one of the worlds largest producers of specials metals and its alloys, and manganese alloys. The company uses state-of-the-art-technology in its production processes, supplying critical ingredients for many industrial and consumer products, from silicones to solar power cells, from steel to aluminium to foundry components.

3.- Main Responsibilities

Develop schedules, and control a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition

Supervises the activities of all maintenance personnel, including maintenance service workers and engineering staff, electrical contractors, etc. Supervision may include generating work scopes and other contract components.

Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Engineering & Maintenance Department

Ensures that adequate inventories of critical components are available at all times

Ensures that the Engineering & Maintenance Department is adequately stocked with necessary hand and power tools

Provides technical guidance/support to all maintenance operations as it pertains to plant operations

Identifies, plans, and implements projects that are intended to provide continuous improvement in the plant's manufacturing practices (i.e. assist in process changes, process improvements, process control, etc.)

Plans and administers an ongoing maintenance training program that may include establishing targeted programs with local community colleges and/or training consultants

Works with the Plant Manager to establish yearly operating and capital budgets

Effectively manages capital spending plan; includes writing appropriations, developing bid scopes, managing contractors, etc.

Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction

Works with other departments as necessary to plan modifications to, or the addition of, facilities and/or equipment

Oversees the plant's calibration system

4.- Profile

BSME or BSEE in a manufacturing environment

Five years experience in a similar supervisory role in a manufacturing, heavy industry, mining environment

Thorough knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, EPA, and other applicable regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance

Heavy industrial facility engineering and project management experience required

Metallurgical, steel, chemical or petrochemical plant industry experience a plus

Capital project management experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Knowledge of ISO 9001, OSHA, and EPA regulations a plus

Flexible work hours required, along with occasional travel

Background in reliability maintenance preferred (ie. CMRP, CRL, or other)
