Engineering Inspector I/II

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: Engineering Inspector I starts at $47,390.00 and Engineering Inspector II starts at $56,304.00

Duties

  • Perform a broad range of construction related inspection activities to assure quality in road construction projects.
  • Inspects more difficult or extensive road projects dealing with soils, materials, construction, plans, standards, specifications and procedures.
  • Provides project coordination/direction to other inspectors as may be required.
  • Radiation safety & density technology certifications will be obtained within the first two years.
  • Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
  • Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
  • Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.


Special Experience/Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with math training sufficient to calculate volume is required.
  • One to two years' experience in construction inspection, commensurate with the duties described above is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver's License.
