Job Description:

CSR Engineering is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects adhere to engineering specifications, codes, and standards. You will collaborate closely with construction teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to verify quality, safety, and compliance throughout all project phases.

 

Required Education/Experience

  • Field construction inspections at 3 years minimum
  • Available to work as inspector throughout middle TN

 

Preferences will be given to candidates with

  • 5+ years of experience with civil projects (utilities, site grading, roadways)
  • Experience with state DOT inspection requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Available to work as inspector throughout state of TN and beyond (limited basis)

 

Qualifications/Certifications Needed:

  • Certifications for concrete, asphalt and soils testing technicians
  • OSHA training
  • Familiarity with documentation of construction inspection techniques (digital and hand written)
  • Microsoft Office software experience
  • Proven experience as a Construction Inspector or similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques
  • Familiarity with engineering codes, regulations, and standards
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and regulations
  • Document and report any deviations from plans or specifications and recommend corrective actions as necessary
  • Perform tests on construction materials and oversee quality control measures
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams to resolve issues and ensure project success
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on construction-related matters
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, reports, and correspondence
