Position: Director of Finance

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to manage and perform all aspects of our accounting and financial reporting functions. We are a small but mighty team with the benefit of being a division of the world’s largest supplier of commercial kitchen equipment to the restaurant industry. We have a start-up entrepreneurial vibe with the corporate structure of an international, publicly traded organization.

This role is remote, but candidates must be based in the continental United States and willing to travel 1-2 days per month. This role is also supervisory and will manage our staff accountant.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate financial statements, ensure compliance, and present findings to the executive and corporate finance team.
  • Lead financial planning processes, analyze performance metrics, and provide strategic insights.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance, evaluate business opportunities, and support departmental objectives.

Cash, Budget, and Expense Management:

  • Oversee cash flow, forecast liquidity, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate on budget development, track variances, and implement cost control measures.

Financial Risk, Systems, and Controls Management:

  • Identify and assess risks, monitor compliance, and recommend adjustments.
  • Manage financial systems, establish internal controls, and drive process improvements.

Tax Planning and Compliance:

  • Ensure tax law compliance, prepare and file returns, and resolve tax-related issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor the staff accountant.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with an accounting major.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with a firm grasp on divisional reporting requirements for a public company.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement preparation, Excel, and accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SaaS and hardware businesses, including deferred revenue and inventory
  • Experience with multiple revenue streams, including a strong channel program
  • Public accounting experience.

Skills & Technologies:

  • QuickBooks proficiency.
  • MRP/ERP systems, including implementation experience.
  • SaaS revenue recognition, invoicing, and billing.
