Job DescriptionJob Description

The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for inventory storage and movements within assigned inventory locations as well as packaging, shipping and receiving of product. Tasks performed by this role will ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions, proper storage and handling of assigned materials, as well as safe and efficient operation of day-to-day warehouse activities. The Inventory Control Associate supports the Materials Management Team and the needs of our internal and external clients.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect shipments for accuracy, damages, defects, lot numbers, etc.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing or other affected parties on any discrepancies
  • Stock inventory or other assigned items in assigned locations or to protect inventory and to efficiently move inventory as needed
  • Distribute materials as needed to support internal requests, work orders, sales orders, transfers etc. and enter transactions to account for material movements
  • Process inventory transactions to complete work orders and sales orders
  • Pick, package and ship items for sales orders, work orders and other shipments as needed to support business operations
  • Enter the necessary information into the computer system to record shipments with accuracy
  • Organize and clean inventory storage area and verify count of inventory items in stock
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory disbursement to other departments
  • Perform accurate daily cycle counts and maintain records of variances, inventory values and root cause as needed
  • May perform hazardous waste activities such as handling, disposal, moving waste drums/containers, and signing hazardous waste manifests
  • Receive and sort mail; prepare and process outbound mail using the USPS system

A Successful Candidate Must Possess:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Proficient math skills are required; must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate
  • Two (2) years of experience in inventory control and/or shipping and receiving preferred
  • PC literacy with basic competency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel and Word) is preferred
  • Experience using an ERP systems or computerized inventory tracking system preferred
  • Must have the ability to be flexible with a great attitude
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, time management and organizational skills and strong attention to detail

Schedule:

  • Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
