ACS has been exclusively engaged to locate an experienced Job Title Manufacturing Manager


Reports to: Vice President/General Manager


Objective

Is responsible for the management of all the activities in the Production and Shipping/Receiving

departments. Delegates and prioritizes workload throughout the entire manufacturing process,

drives changes and improvements, provides accurate and timely feedback to both internal and

external customers, and ensures on-time deliveries to meet the customers requirements.

Maximizes throughput by planning and executing production plans to meet customer delivery

requirements. Ensures all employees work in a safe, harmonious manner and that all

government safety and environmental regulations are met. Direct reports to the Director include

Production Planner, and Shipping Supervisor.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requires a safe work environment and ensures strict adherence to the established safety and work policies.

Develops shipment plans to meet customer delivery requirements.

Maximizes plant efficiencies and balance manpower and production needs.

Manages the personnel in departments by setting daily priorities and the delegation of work within the department.

Ensures the quality of workmanship, and the efficiency of the departments are maintained to the highest standards.

Maintains a high level of good housekeeping practices and serve as the companys 6S champion.

Ensures all work is performed in accordance with established procedures and meets the customer requirements.

Prepares various reports related to employees, production, facility and equipment.

Maintains tracking of materials throughout the facility. Ensures that inventory levels are accurate through cycle counts and physical inventory counts and the proper closure of all

orders. Ensures that material has been properly charged to the correct orders.

Ensures the MRP backlog is accurately scheduled and represents the companys current manufacturing schedule plans.

Identifies discrepant material and assists in the root cause analysis of the non- conforming materials.

Manages continuous improvement projects.

Coordinates with Engineering/Quality to release mill orders and materials to the shop.

Upon receipt of customer purchase order, participates in the new order release review

prior to acceptance and release to determine if we can meet the customers required ship

dates.

Coordinates with outside vendors for services, including machining and testing and any

special shipping requirements.

Works closely with QA to insure sound product and compliance with all requirements.

Communicates with customers as required.

Must contribute to a positive work environment by being a change agent and problem

solver.

Performs any task required to support customer requirements and company goals.

Achieves the companys annual Sales Plan while maintaining On-Time Delivery to

Customers.

Ensures On-Time Starts and On-Time Completion to the Master Schedule.

Generates Labor Cost Reductions while Managing Labor Productivity and Efficiency.

Ensures Slow-Moving Work In Process is Managed.

Leads Achievement of the Companys Annual DART Rate Goals.


Basic knowledge and skills required

Must have minimum of 10 years experience in production or manufacturing in a heavy

manufacturing or metals environment.

Previous supervisory experience required.

Previous union experience beneficial.

Previous forging experience beneficial.

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and basic knowledge of production control

systems and Office products.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blue prints and technical procedures.

Ability to communicate with and present to all levels of employees and customers.


Educational Requirements:

B.S. Degree in Manufacturing, Business, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum five years experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar role.

Experience with ERP systems.

Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft. Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
