Family Circle of Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic mental health team. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive mental health care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients with psychiatric disorders. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality mental health services to our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examination, and diagnostic testing.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Prescribe and manage medications, monitor patient response, and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Provide psychotherapy, including individual, group, and family therapy, using evidence-based techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure integrated care.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare staff on psychiatric and mental health issues.
- Engage in community outreach and patient education initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Texas.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to providing culturally competent care to a diverse patient population.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
