Deliverables/Principal Results Expected:

  • Directly supervise all teachers at the school
  • Be a member of the school’s leadership team
  • Develop and train teachers regarding effective instruction methodologies and engagement practices
  • Work closely with the teachers, behavior specialist, clinical specialist to design effective plans for the students
  • Maintain safe learning environment for students and staff
  • Regularly observe teachers and classrooms with written feedback and action plans
  • Support the director with communication to classroom staff
  • Assist with communication and teacher communication protocols for parents, school districts and outside agencies
  • Review and revise IEPs.
  • Assist teachers to develop IEPs in accordance with the quality measures and compliance timelines
  • Train teachers to use assessments and assessment data to inform instruction and to develop IEPs
  • Participate in IEP meetings
  • Review documentation for accuracy
  • Assist and collaborate with teachers to create effective academic lessons
  • Regularly review of lesson plans to ensure proper planning
  • Ensure lesson plans and instruction align to standards and are designed to meet the individual needs and goals of each student
  • Ensure all modifications and SDIs are being properly implemented
  • Train and develop teachers to effectively and accurately progress monitor students goals and objectives.
  • Use data to inform decisions and instruction
  • Regular review of progress monitoring.
  • Develop teachers to be effective supervisors of their assigned aides.
  • Assist with conflict resolution and problem solving
  • Participate in debriefs and root cause analysis
  • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
  • Implement evidence based practices into the learning environment
  • Present a positive/nurturing attitude
  • Conduct classroom meetings with staff and teachers
  • Create dedicated training time and intentionally use that time to develop teachers and aide regarding instruction
  • Conduct yearly formal evaluations of each teacher
  • Establish training plans and measurable goals for each direct report
  • Assist in the recruiting, interview and hiring of teachers and aides
  • Ensure the school and classrooms are adhering to safety measures
  • Schedule and lead school tours in the absences of the director
  • Market program and attend events
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience:

PA teaching certification in special education, 2-4 year of teaching experience in autism support and/or emotional support, Master’s degree preferred.
