Assemblers follow operative guidelines to build a product for a company based on blueprints and instructions. Their duties include checking that items are fully assembled, ensuring that safety protocols are followed, and troubleshooting any issues found during production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job description represents only the primary areas of responsibility; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.

Essential duties and responsibilities should be listed in the order of importance/majority of time spent.

• Building products on the assembly line according to drawings, instructions, or schematics.

• Following established safety and efficiency procedures to ensure that operations run smoothly.

• Inspecting assembled products for any faults or defects.

• Stopping and/or halting production if machinery fails or a major defect is detected.

• Reporting incidents, faulty operations, or product imperfections to management.

• Meeting production targets.

• Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.

• Assembling products and parts.

• Following production guidelines and specifications.

• Operating and maintaining machinery and equipment.

• Verifying dimensions and product specifications.

• Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present.

• Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in.

• Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.

• Adhering to assembly safety standards.

• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to

successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

• Knowledgeable in manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.

• At least 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Able to use and understand measurements and using tape measurement tools is preferred.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:

• None

KNOWLEDGE:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Spreadsheets, Word Document, etc.) preferred.

• Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

• English Language-Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

SKILL IN:

• Exercising confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment.

• Sense of Urgency - Motivated self-starter.

• Mathematics - Using math to solve problems.

• Critical thinking - Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
