Senior Pastor

The Senior Pastor operates as the visionary leader of Word of God Church and Ministries Baltimore, a nondenominational Christian church located in a residential neighborhood in the Northwest section of the City of Baltimore. The Senior Pastor serves as the primary communicator, spiritual shepherd, and guide of the church. The Senior Pastor will provide overall leadership to the church and ministerial team, ensuring there are healthy systems of evangelism, compassion, leadership development, discipleship, and pastoral care in place. A primary focus of the Senior Pastor is to deliver and win souls for Jesus Christ and to empower communities through the Word physically, educationally, and economically towards social impact.

Position Functions:

1. Deliver and oversee the church services
2. Develop and carry out a ministry plan to provide spiritual formation and development of the church body as well as missional outreach to the Northwest Baltimore City community.
3. Teach or lead supplemental growth opportunities as deemed appropriate.
4. Provide oversight to pastoral care, including hospital calls, funerals, weddings, and counseling.
5. Guide the Ministerial Staff and Ministry of Deacons in spiritual growth.
6. Collaborate with church leaders and the congregation.
7. Oversee the pastoral staff and administrative staff.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Primary gifts in preaching, pastoral ministry, and leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biblical studies or similar from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• At least 10 years of combined experience in preaching and teaching.
