Basic Function

The Master Planner will support purchasing, planning and operations in planning production ensuring that customer demands are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, negotiate and resolve conflicts with material and capacity availability and order commitment dates.
  • Schedule raw material/purchase components through product release.
  • Identify constraints and assist team with corrective action.
  • Quote delivery dates for sales requests.
  • Reduce inventory/lead times, production improvements, and efficiencies.
  • Create, plan and change BOM's as required.
  • Interface with sales and operations to provide timely feedback for all schedules.
  • Release and manage production orders.
  • Review, identify and resolve material shortages with suppliers.
  • Work with operations and sales to drive changes in forecasting.
  • Understand capacity levels in production.
  • Interface with commodity groups in sourcing materials.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Create reports in analyzing trends, production, efficiencies, etc.
  • Interface with the production line and external suppliers to resolve material issues.

  • Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data
  • Be capable of utilizing spreadsheet and ERP-type software in managing the planning process
  • Proven organizational, project management and leadership skills
  • Change Agent – skill with enabling change and strong influencing abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Strong PC skills
  • Team player; able to work well across business operations and develop strong business teams
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction
  • Thorough understanding of operations and supply chain logistics.


Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or a related professional or technical discipline is required.

Experience:

  • Experience using production planning systems
  • 5+ years of previous scheduling and planning experience supporting purchasing, material planning and operations.
