Summary:

The Structural Welder will play a vital role in our manufacturing process, primarily focusing on welding and fabricating structural components for pile driving equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in welding techniques, particularly in working with heavy steel materials, and will demonstrate a keen eye for detail to ensure the highest standards of quality and durability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate structural components for pile driving equipment.
  • Perform various welding processes, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), to join heavy steel materials effectively.
  • Operate welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches, safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of components prior to welding, utilizing clamps, jigs, and fixtures as necessary.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded joints to identify defects, such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete penetration, and make necessary repairs.
  • Adhere to welding procedures and specifications, including preheating, post-weld heat treatment, and welding parameters, to meet quality and structural integrity requirements.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators, machinists, and engineers, to optimize production processes and resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of welding consumables and equipment, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Structural Welder, with a focus on heavy steel fabrication and pile drive manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in various welding processes.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds with minimal rework.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Welding Certification
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience.
