The Ivy Street School is a small, year-round, private residential special education school committed to advancing equity and access for young people living with disabilities. We serve neurodiverse adolescents ages 13-22. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Clinical Operations assesses the clinical milieu needs, upholds Ivy Street values, and is process-oriented within the larger clinical services at Ivy Street School, a therapeutic 766 Day and Residential School that serves students ages 13 to 22 with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Neurological Disorders, and Behavioral Health Challenges. Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Assistant Director of Clinical Operations functions as a leader and mobilizes the Ivy Street School mini teams to support student/family growth and goal progress with a particular emphasis on assessing the milieu needs to promote safety and engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Assessment and Needs Service Delivery

  • Ensures clinical service delivery both upholds Ivy Street School’s values as well as meets standards outlined on students’ IEP and treatment plans
  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of high need/clinically complex students
  • Identifies the training needs for Education Counselors and Residential Counselors in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations
  • Attunes to the partnership with the residential and educational teams to ensure cohesion, growth, and best practices in service delivery
  • Maintains a strong partnership with the Milieu Coordinator and Behavior Team to assess milieu needs and provides feedback and guidance
  • Demonstrates initiative and seeks new projects to improve service delivery

Leadership, Coaching, and Supervision

  • Co-leads clinical group supervision and intentionally moves the group forward in holding the process: vulnerability, modeling, feedback, etc.
  • Leads and organizes weekly clinical department meeting in collaboration with the Clinical Manager
  • Leads the Ivy Street School Clinical Internship Program and has oversite of the Training Series, organized in collaboration with the Clinical Manager
  • Provides clinical supervision to Ivy Street clinical interns and Education Counselors
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new clinicians and clinical interns in collaboration with the Clinical Manager
  • Participates as a member of the Administrator on Duty team to provide on-call supervision and support to both day and residential programming
  • Provides orientation and in-service training on behalf of the clinical team
  • Demonstrates an ability to give and receive feedback to team members
  • Holds a late-night shift once a week and has a leadership presence at Ivy or CFP

Family Engagement

  • Upholds a high commitment to family therapy on their own caseload
  • Leads a monthly parent support group for residential families in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations
  • Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Operations to provide parent training and programing opportunities
  • Creates intentional relationship building opportunities with all Ivy Street families

Continuous Learning

  • Upholds integrity and is process-oriented within the clinical team and with all departments as a leader
  • Leads their individual supervision and is thoughtful about growth and goal setting
  • Engages in continuous education as a clinical social worker and maintains license requirements
  • Identifies training opportunities and needs amongst the department

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, LICSW required, 1+ years’ experience in a supervisory role
  2. Expertise in PBIS, Trauma-Informed Care, and family systems
  3. Experience and comfort with public speaking
  4. Excellent family engagement skills
  5. Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and CPI (Ivy Street School can provide these trainings)
  6. Driver’s license
