JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of elevator installation projects.  You will work closely with general contractors, architects, consultants, and sales teams to ensure that all bids are competitive, realistic, and aligned with client needs and company standards.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain necessary clarifications or conflicts in the bid documents, prepare RFI’s.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for new elevator installations.
  • Research and source applicable vendor materials and pricing to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with sales team as required to prepare bid proposals.
  • Review project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure all bids are submitted on time
  • and meet all client and regulatory requirements.
  • Occasionally attend client meetings to discuss project requirements, clarify scope, and present estimates.
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients during the bidding process.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging technologies in the elevator industry.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures and value engineering options to improve competitiveness.
  • Complete bid proposal letter including all scope information, qualifications and comments.
  • Responsible for completing bid forms, bid bonds, prequalification forms and any other documents associated with the project.
  • Review proposal with the estimating manager for accuracy

  

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in construction estimation, preferably within the elevator or vertical transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of construction industry is beneficial.
  • Able to interact well with others and independently.
  • Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive bids is beneficial.


SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and various online project bid sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong customer relations skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
  • May require travel to meet with clients or visit project sites.
