Cast Technician

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBluegrass Orthopaedics is hiring a full time Cast Technician for our Cast/DME department in Lexington, Ky.

​​​​​As a Cast Technician with Bluegrass Orthopaedics, you will ​be responsible for application and removal of casts and DME (durable medical equipment), collecting co-pays on DME items when needed and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Bluegrass Orthopaedics has been serving Central and Southeastern Kentucky for over 25 years. We offer a variety of services for all areas of sports medicine, total joint care, industrial medicine and foot, ankle and hand care. We pride ourselves in treating athletes of all ages - from the youth sports athlete, to the weekend warrior, the industrial athlete, to the senior athlete.

Job Requirements:

• Education requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certification requirements:
  • ROT preferred, not required.
• Experience: preferred but not required
• Applies Cast or DME based off physician's order
• Ensure Cast or DME fit properly
• Communicate cost with patient and collect co-pay if needed
• Educate patient on how to care for Cast or DME item
• Answer and return patient phone calls relating to Cast or DME
• Stock inventory as needed
• Transporting surgical DME items to surgery center
• Other duties as directed by Team Lead, Supervisor or Director
