Position Summary: The Sales and Marketing Associate promotes the Gabor Design Build brand, drives sales, and builds relationships with our valued customers.  The position is responsible for generating new business, building relationships, creating amazing experiences for customers and closing sales to achieve organizational revenue goals.  The position will offer the opportunity to work with one of the finest residential remodeling sales, interior design and project management teams in residential remodeling.  The Sales Associate will communicate a continuous improvement and growth mindset of the sales team and possess strong ability to interface with and successfully influence others.

 

Reports To:  Sales Manager

 

Supervisory Authority:   The Sales and Marketing Associate has the authority to lead cross functional teams of designers as necessary in alignment with client objectives and the budget to carry out the work and achieve the key results of the company.  The Sales and Marketing Associate shall lead, delegate duties and responsibilities to the assigned design team as appropriate and hold them accountable overseeing performance for client.

 

FLSA Status:  Hourly – Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stewards the brand exemplifying the mission and values while growing and protecting the reputation of GDB. Responsible for building trust with employees, partners and customers.
  • Qualify leads for residential remodeling from various channels including, GDB advertising, showroom customers, calls/website inquiries, referrals, tradeshows, networking, and your lead generation talents, while concurrently managing a client pipeline ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Manage and build client relationships through great listening skills translating customer wants into design agreements. Working with clients to establish a budget, project scope and then create estimates and construction agreements.  Accountable for process compliance, client budget and overall communication while attaining sales goals. 
  • Design and lead project while collaborating with interior design and architectural design teams. Lead project team meetings with clients, perform on-site measures, ensure designer’s selections meet clients functional and aesthetic needs, produce accurate floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings for client presentations and accurately estimating costs meeting scope and budget.
  • Set schedules and deadlines for design completion, design review, selections and estimating of project. Responsible for appropriate continuous communication with clients on schedules / progress.
  • Works cross functionally with procurement, production and finance for project execution.
  • Works with sales team, interior designers, architectural designers, procurement and marketing to evolve and maintain showroom.
  • Handle escalated complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.

 

Marketing:

  • Assists in developing the annual operating plan providing direction and visionary ideas in crafting objectives and key results for the company in terms of marketing.
  • Works closely with sales to refine the competitive advantage, value proposition, ideal customer and develop strategies to attract and find qualified customers.
  • Design and execute marketing communication campaigns for B2C across digital platforms and print.
  • Develops and maintains marketing calendar of general communication and effective messaging on various platforms to existing clients and prospects.
  • Design, write, proofread and/or copyedit communications, marketing and promotional pieces, both print and electronic.
  • Create content, manage content strategy and content marketing efforts for email, print, blog, website and social media; maintain content library.
  • Manage social media strategy and content for channels (including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to include posts, stories, highlights, videos, hashtags and analytics. Follows, responds and reacts to engage and grow social media audience.
  • Measure and report on marketing project deliverables, effectiveness and communication activities.
  • Develop in-house staff presentations including writing the script and coordinated visuals (such as PowerPoint) ensuring a powerful impact.
  • Manage content on website and work with developer as needed.
  • Provide creative direction, design and create communications that follow established brand standards and voice, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Proactively works to maximize all potential marketing opportunities including new ideas to reach our audience beyond traditional means.
  • Empowered to represent GDB to speak on behalf of the organization for the purpose of making the mission, vision and brand understood and successful.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – interior design, marketing, communications, architecture, or business administration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in remodeling or construction sales, interior design experience a plus.
  • Strong prospecting skills and excellent closing skills.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes a plus.
  • Strong understanding of construction finance, project profitability and measures of financial performance.
  • Solid ability to build relationships, to motivate, negotiate and persuade diverse groups and individuals.
  • Competent in conflict management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to shift priorities and deal with changing demands in an effective manner.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite specifically Word, Excel and Outlook; experience in 2020 Design Live, AutoCAD, Buildertrend, Smartsheets and/or other like software.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, follow-through and accountability with positive attitude open to teamwork. High energy and sense of humor.
  • Valid driver’s license, car insurance and reliable mode of transportation. Ability to travel locally, work some nights and weekends as needed.
