Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Project Manager who will oversee the development of customized automated assembly systems for industries like automotive, aerospace, and medical equipment. They handle the project from inception to completion, managing budgets, schedules, and customer support. Responsibilities include leading project communications and supervising design and assembly teams.


Project Management Overview:

  • Manage entire project scope and any scope changes throughout the project life cycle.
  • Communicate, prepare, and submit scope changes to the customer for review before proceeding with any changes in design or build scope.
  • Supervise team of designers and builders to meet or exceed schedule and budget set during the application and quoting process.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with product equipment performance and services provided.
  • Deliver financial results meeting or exceeding company expectations for awarded projects.
  • 10-15% Travel.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage custom automation projects ranging in size from $125,000 to 2 million dollars.
  • Communicate and interface with the management team to manage customer expectations.
  • Establish, communicate, and manage project goals and objectives, including functional specification, cycle time, schedule, budget, and resources.
  • Manage project costs versus established budgets and project potential cash flow issues.
  • Utilize the ERP system, Microsoft Office, and Project Summary worksheets to manage project workflow and budgets.
  • Assist the Sales and Applications team in developing concepts, proposals, quotations, and presentations.
  • Direct everyday operations of the assigned project to monitor compliance with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Regularly communicate project status updates to the customer and internal management team.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with the customer and project team to discuss project activities and maintain the project schedule.
  • Maintain an action list following standard procedures.
  • Accurately estimate the resources and material costs required to complete the project.
  • Maintain constant communication with management to ensure resources are available to complete the project within the budgeted timeline and hours.
  • Prepare and submit Engineering change orders to the customer for project scope changes.
  • Oversee and maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain continuity among project team members by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing project needs.
  • Stay updated on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
