Reports to: Manager, Training and Development


Purpose:

The Trainer, Claims Analyst trains newly hired Claims Analysts on basic functions essential for their role. The Trainer, Claims Analyst has a strong knowledge of basic Claims Analyst functions to train new hires, including but not limited to verifying patient pharmacy and medical claims, processing claims through a pharmacy benefit system, obtaining authorizations and overrides, and applying copay assistance when applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Trains newly hired Claims Analysts on basic functions essential for their role including but not limited to verifying patient pharmacy and medical coverage and processing information, processing pharmacy claims through a pharmacy benefit system, verifying medical benefits accurately on patients’ behalf, obtaining authorizations and overrides, and applying patients for copay cards and/or assistance programs.
  • Facilitates additional training with Supervisors as needed.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication with patients to review financial responsibility and obtain patient consent for payment.
  • Accepts direction from pharmacist(s) and Leadership regarding various elements of specialty call compliance programs.
  • Communicates effectively with both the Supervisor(s) and Program Manager(s) of applicable teams.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or graduate education degree (GED).
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience processing pharmacy claims.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-3 years customer service experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a specialty pharmacy call center environment.

Work Environment:

PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy offers flexibility only to eligible employees to work hybrid or remotely without compromising work performance, productivity, or team collaboration. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
