The company hiring for this position specializes in Non Destructive Testing in the aeronautics field, which is in extremely high demand. They're seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to run a manual lathes and milling machines in Kent, Washington: but they're also willing to train a high-potential candidate with the right attributes who is open to the bottom end of the pay range and earning their way up the pay scale as they develop more relevant skills. The equipment you'll use is medium-duty industrial machinery that requires astrong mechanical background.


Compensation and Schedule:


  • Hourly rate of $22-$35/hour depending on directly relevant work experience
  • Weekly pay period


  • Location: Kent, WA
  • Schedule: M-F Day Shift

Manual Machinist

The Manual Machinist will be responsible for identifying and selecting appropriate materials and fastener hardware, cutting material, and machining prototype R&D projects and short production runs for Calibration Standards using manual lathes and milling machines.


Knowledge and Skill Requirement:

  • Basic writing skills and mathematical fluency required.
  • Understanding of general tolerances and blueprint reading.
  • Understand or capable of quickly learning how to use and read precision measuring tools which include micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Demonstrated skill in the production of complex parts in accordance with aerospace related drawings, which often include R&D type work (preferred).
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to work on a self-directed team with limited supervision.
  • Ability to complete company goals/tasks in a timely manner, even under aggressive production schedules.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.


Physical Demands:

  • Moderate to low physical activity most of the time with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision (Near).
  • Ability to wear PPEear plugs, safety glasses as needed.


Work Environment:

The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, vibration, and chemicals related to job duties such as aircraft paint and sealant. The noise level in the work area is moderate to low.
