Landscape Worker

Summary:

The role of Landscape Maintenance worker mow, edge, and fertilize lawns. Landscape maintenance worker install and maintain landscapes, prune trees or shrubs, and do other tasks to ensure that vegetation is attractive, orderly, and safe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plants grass, shrubs, trees and flowers
• Installs and maintains fences, gates, retaining walls, rock gardens, outdoor lighting and other design features.
• Digs trenches and levels ground.
• Keeps outdoor furniture in good repair.
• Applies mulch, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
• Maintains green spaces by weeding, trimming and pruning.
• Removes unwanted or unhealthy plants, shrubs and trees, as well as downed limbs.
• Operates hand tools and power equipment including mowers, leaf-blowers, snow blowers, tillers and small tractors.
• Provide direction to SEIC and affiliate leadership.
• Waters lawns and gardens where needed.
• Rakes leaves and other vegetation from lawns and flower beds
• Removes trash and other debris from outdoor areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not oversee staff.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma preferred.
• Landscape maintenance experience preferred.
• Driver’s license
• High School diploma preferred.
