URM Stores, Inc. is currently looking for a motivated Assistant Store Designer / Construction Coordinator to join our growing team Reporting to the Director of Store Planning & Equipment, the Assistant Store Designer / Construction Coordinator will have a good understanding of AutoCAD & efficiently use the program to design construction drawings. This position will also assist the Store Design & Construction Coordinator when needed as well as assist with the management and coordination of construction projects. You may recognize a few of the 240 plus banners we serve all over the Inland Pacific Northwest. Some of these banners include, Rosauers Supermarkets, Yoke’s Fresh Markets, and Super 1 Foods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use AutoCAD to design detailed construction drawings which include equipment specs, electrical/mechanical requirements, wall & ceiling finishes, interior wall layouts, interior elevations, and cabinet plans.
- Field measure existing stores and use AutoCAD to design grocery store fixture plans, concept drawings & preliminary site plans for new & remodel projects. Assist with URM facilities drawings.
- Quote & order equipment for daily orders and/or full construction projects.
- Assist with the coordination of construction documents between Owners, design team professionals & building officials.
- Assist with the management of construction projects, submittal reviews, RFI's & clarification drawings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate of Science in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (AutoCAD) or a combination of education and experience.
- AutoCAD Certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years drafting using AutoCAD.
- Effective verbal and written communication: You get to the point quickly and succinctly and make complicated concepts clear to others.
- You are an exceptional listener, even in stressful situations, and display an acute sense of situational awareness.
- Respectfully work with members of the design team to develop design solutions appropriate to the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of the retail store projects.
- Work collaboratively with other departments while encouraging teamwork and Company achievement.
- Excels in a team-based, customer-centric culture.
- Be willing to support and contribute to the achievement of departmental & Company goals.
