A Plus Tree is seeking an Urban Forest Certified Arborist to support A Plus Urban Forest Sales in the Portland territory with an emphasis and focus on Residential.
This is a salary, full-time position with flexibility and unique perks including the ability to participate in a business lead referral program earning a percentage of sales commission. As an Urban Forest Arborist (UFA), you will be responsible for the day-to-day support of A Plus Urban Forrest Sales, focusing on residential clients and in some cases multi-family, HOA and commercial properties. You'll partner with the Urban Forest Sales Manager (UFM) to plan and execute short-term and long-term growth and sales targets. The Urban Forest Arborist will participate in select sales priorities to establish the core building blocks to enable long-term profitable growth through complete sales initiatives of the territory.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Partners with the Urban Forest Sales Manager (UFM), preparing proposals & sending estimates and making notes.
- Walk properties
- Greets and follows up with customers on proposals, current jobs & account management activities
- Updates new clients, properties & calendar events into Arbor Plus
- Prepares permit information & arborist reports
- Attends city meetings to obtain permits on approved proposals
- Identifies local tree species, makes detailed assessments, and recommends treatments. Identify special considerations or equipment needed for the job.
- Partners with UFM and consults with clients on pruning, trimming, shaping, reducing, and removal of trees
- Partners with UFM and consults with clients on plant health care and general tree care
- Inventories and catalogs trees using company software
- Completes walkthrough with the client before and after work has been completed to ensure we are meeting customer expectation. Answer any questions.
- Meet with HOA boards.
- Identifies chip drop locations and communicates them to the field
- Marks stumps for 811 and submits tickets for jobs being completed in less than 3 days
- Sets up No Parking in advance of scheduled jobs
- Works closely with Operations Managers, Crew Leaders, Climbers, and Grounds Persons to ensure a job well done and client satisfaction
- Assists UFM with any marketing campaigns & distributing marketing materials
- For residential, manage client sales inbox and call & email clients to schedule appointments for UFMs.
- Create detailed calendar invites for set appts and route plan for efficiency.
- Help with any administration determined by UFM
What we are looking for:
- Two or four-year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environment Sciences, Biological Sciences, or equivalent
- ISA Certification or an equivalent state license
- Proven track record in developing relationships focusing on superior customer service, & establishing, maintaining, and growing a sales territory
- Hands-on knowledge of tree and plant care
- Strong ability to correctly and effectively diagnose and price various tree care treatments
- The ability to prepare and present proposals, either one-on-one or with small groups
- Experience managing large or complex accounts, such as municipal or condo associations, where there are multiple decision-makers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong listening skills and the ability to take high-quality notes from your conversations with clients that lead to a solid proposal
- Flexibility to adjust the schedule to meet changing
