CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant

Full Time * Part Time * Per Diem

Base hourly rate up to $23.45 per hour

Full-time CNA's may qualify for special Weekend Warrior program, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday incentive rate as outlined:

Premium - Saturday and Sunday incentive, $1.50 per hour
Shift differential - 2nd Shift = $1.00 and 3rd Shift = $2.00

***30% Weekend Warrior rate for full time CNA's on base hourly rate in addition to weekend incentive and shift differential (up to $29.44/hour)***

United Methodist Communities is currently seeking CNA: Certified Nursing Assistants for The Shores, our Senior Care Community located in Ocean City, NJ within picturesque Cape May County.

The CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant performs various non-professional nursing care activities and related services necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of the residents.

Requirements for a CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months experience in a long term care setting
  • Current and valid CNA certification in New Jersey

Responsibilities for a CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant:

  • Perform personal care activities for residents
  • Completes daily skin checks and reports changes to nurse immediately
  • Participates in the dining experience, i.e., serving, clearing, cutting & feeding- based on residents' strengths
  • Shares resident preferences with other staff using appropriate communication methods
  • Maintains continuity of care daily by timely documenting and communicating care tasks completed with each individual resident assigned in the point of care kiosk
  • Attends and actively participates with Interdisciplinary Team Care Plan meeting to identify residents' strength based approaches and skills for assigned residents
  • Assist residents with the use of adaptive equipment, including but not limited to: walkers, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures and hearing aids
  • Understands, uses and follow restorative nursing principles and practices to assist resident in maintaining their optimal level of function and maximize their strengths
  • Reads and understands the individualized summary plan for residents, and provides support to the residents according to their summary and care plan
  • Observes and identifies residents' changing needs and condition at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing as appropriate
  • Takes and records vital signs & weights as instructed by nurse. Makes rounds several times each shift to identify residents needing assistance
  • Perform treatment task under the supervision of the licensed nurse and therapist
  • Seeks opportunity to learn for personal growth: completes in-services training programs, attends nursing staff meetings and mandatory assigned training
