Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
A growing national company is seeking individuals to join its team of professional home inspectors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable, and presentable and will follow our standard process to complete an accurate, thorough, quality home inspection and detailed report. This position is currently part-time, with the potential to become full-time.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The inspector is required to have a basic knowledge of residential home systems and elements and is expected to work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods. Solid computer technology skills are necessary for report writing and communications.
The ideal candidate stays current on the latest company initiatives, policies, and procedures while continually developing advanced technical knowledge in building science. Punctuality, the ability to work independently, and a strong work ethic are also required. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
  • Travel to the home inspection site
  • Inspect plumbing, heating, roofing, structural, and electrical for condition and potential safety concerns
  • Keep daily logs, write up reports, and take photographs
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience required
  • Strong understanding of building codes, laws, and government regulations
  • Valid drivers license
  • Passed the National Home Inspection Exam required
  • Home Inspector's license in Rhode Island is required
  • Home Inspector's license in Massachusetts is preferred
  • RI Radon License preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
  • Ability to study, test, and pass state-required licensing

  • Physically fit for climbing ladders, walking on roofs, accessing crawl spaces and attics, and standing for long periods
  • Degree in construction preferred
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • May be required to enter homes that contain allergens such as pets, dust, mold, or other
  • Willing to work weekends and late afternoons when needed
