Job Description
Job Title: Behavior Technician (BT), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT)
Department: Applied Behavior Analysis Services (ABA)
Position
Description: The BA/RBT/BCAT is responsible for the delivery of ABA services to clients and families. Responsibilities will include direct service delivery, documentation, material development for treatment sessions, and tracking client progress.

Education and
Experience:
• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; and
• Successfully complete a criminal background registry check
• An RBT must complete 40 hours of ASD training including but not limited to training about prevalence, etiology, core symptoms, characteristics, and learning differences, in addition to any other BACB requirements.
General Requirements:
• General knowledge and experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis
• Services and/or knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Excel, database management and record keeping.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Patient information is to be held strictly confidential. During the time of employment as well as after termination of employment with MECA Therapies, each employee agrees to hold in absolute confidence all information regarding MECA services.

Any patient information obtained while an employee of this therapy practice shall remain confidential except to the extent allowed by MECA Therapies HIPAA Policy and as part of the employee’s job description.
Employees will discuss any questions or concerns they have with their supervisor or the practice’s Privacy Officer. Any employee, who is not sure whether certain patient information should be released, will not release the information until discussing the circumstances with their supervisor and/or the Privacy Officer.
In the event it is discovered patient information may have been used or disclosed inappropriately, every employee is expected to notify their supervisor or the Privacy Officer. Supervisors will report such events to the Privacy Officer so that immediate and proper steps may be taken to mitigate/minimize any adverse effects to the patient.
Employees will not face retribution solely for reporting suspected misuse or inappropriate disclosure of patient information to their supervisor or the Privacy Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Behavior Technician, Registered Behavior Technician, and Board-Certified Autism
Technician will operate within Local, State and Federal Regulations as well as adhere to
all MECA policies and procedures. Essential duties include but are not limited to the
following:
APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (ABA) SERVICES
1. Consulting with Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
2. Receiving Training on policies and procedures for the ABA program
3. Receiving Training on specific ABA strategies
4. Utilizing appropriate stimulus materials and treatment modalities for age and ability of the person served
5. Giving clear concise instructions in presenting materials and/or techniques in therapy
6. Recording and tracking daily progress accurately
7. Utilizing time in sessions efficiently to meet objectives
8. Providing accurate and immediate feedback to the client and/or family
CASELOAD ASSIGNMENTS
The BT/RBT/BCAT will be assigned a caseload of clients/families in need of ABA services
• Positions will be considered full time with an assignment of 3 to 10 clients/families totaling at minimum 30 hours of direct supports per week
• Adjustments to caseloads can be made based on the need of the clients/families
PRODUCTIVITY
The BT/RBT/BCAT will achieve the expected 90% productivity performance goal set by MECA Management.

DOCUMENTATION
The BT/RBT/BCAT will accurately collect data on persons served and will ensure that the information is accurate and filed in a timely manner by adhering to the following:
1. Documenting therapy sessions
a. A session note will be completed in the Rethink system within 24 hours of the conducted session
b. Any BT/RBT/BCAT needing additional time to complete documentation will request approval from the supervising BCBA
2. Completing of quarterly notes
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
The BT/RBT/BCAT will comply with all mandatory trainings identified by their certification board as well trainings mandated by MECA Therapies by adhering to the following:
1. Including the client/family in the implementation of treatment and training families on specific treatment strategies and carryover skills for the client/family
2. Consulting and providing in-house trainings to other staff members
3. Maintaining appropriate certification
4. Attending mandatory staff meetings and trainings
SUPERVISION
BT/RBT/BCAT will receive supervision from a BCBA. Supervision will be provided according to the BACB Guidelines.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
The BT/RBT/BCAT will maintain quality services for the persons served by adhering to the following:
1. Ensure person served have a clear understanding of their rights
2. Acknowledge and respect the rights of persons served at all times
3. Ensure all therapy and related activities are ethical and in compliance with MECA policies and procedures and BACB Guidelines
