As a Diesel Technician Trainee you will trained to perform maintenance, inspections, diagnose and repair of system components on heavy / medium duty vehicles. Provide quality workmanship for excellent customer service and be part of our exceptional service team.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

  • Preventative Maintenance, DOT and State Inspections.

  • Diagnoses the cause of malfunctions and performs repair.

  • Component overhauls

  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.

  • Communicates with service advisor or assigned supervisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

  • Documents all work performed including the 3 C’s of Complaint, Cause, Correction.

  • Communicates with the parts department or workflow process to obtain needed parts.

  • Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.

  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.

  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.

  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. 

  • Understands, keeps abreast of and comply with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.

Requirements

  • Two year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Training Technician  Qualifications

  • Ability to perform maintenance and most tasks assigned with mechanical knowledge.
