We are looking for a Senior M&A Accountant who is passionate about both M&A transactions and project management. This is an individual contributor role responsible for seamless coordination with all parties involved in the M&A acquisition and integration process including the deal team, diligence team, accounting team, and others.  This is a new position that will be working closely with, and fully supported by, the Director of M&A Integration.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior M&A Accountant will include onboarding new acquisitions, coordinating audits and related financial disclosures, as well as continuously improving the onboarding process.

Must be knowledgeable of GAAP accounting principles (CPA preferred) and be able to convert non-GAAP acquisitions to a GAAP basis.  This often requires working with acquired companies to assist in preparing and reconciling the GAAP basis closing balance sheet as well as purchase accounting entries required for the opening balance sheet.  

This is a project-based role that requires strong organizational and project management skills and is suited for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to anticipate roadblocks and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, leveraging their experience with finance operations and technical accounting.
 The Senior M&A Accountant will work directly for and with the Director of M&A Integration, the responsibilities are:
  • Oversee all accounting activities pertaining to the creation of GAAP opening balance sheets for acquired companies, including the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparation of adjusting entries, coordination of recording journal entries, and review of trial balances.
  • Assist with the preparation of Purchase Price Adjustments including Net Working Capital true-ups and calculation of contingent consideration (earnouts).
  •  Coordinate gathering of inputs necessary for ASC 805 valuations of the acquisitions with our third-party valuation firm within 60 days post-acquisition.
  • Assist in coordination of the implementation of AS842 lease standard with operating companies 
  • Coordination of purchase price allocations with 3rd party tax services
  • Gather and review information required for annual audit items pertaining to Business Combinations


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience; public accounting and controller experience a plus
  • Prior experience with purchase accounting and ASC805 Business Combinations
  • Prior experience with long-term-project-accounting / percentage of completion accounting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Proficiency with Deltek Software (Vision / Vantagepoint)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail
