GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Tyonek Services Group will provide field maintenance (to include phase maintenance and special inspections), limited sustainment level repair, aviation maintenance management, embedded support to the TDD-A/SID's Flight Test Division, prototype development of systems and products, and aircraft modifications and upgrades.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of the developmental flight test that supports research and advanced concept programs that support unmanned aviation initiatives for TDD, the Army, government agencies, and the defense industry.
  • Coordinate and execute ground flight testing or test related activities for various research and development activities to include: testing activities at airfield or off-site, test program management, project test support and program management for test activities.
  • Coordinates test efforts with acquisition agencies including Program Manager's offices, TRADOC Capability Managers, Contractors, and the user community.
  • Performs test pilot duties for single and multi-ship operations utilizing multiple UAS types and groups IAW AR 95-1, TDD SOP's and command directives and memorandums.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of ten years of experience with a mix of fixed wing and rotary wing UAS operations in multiple UAS Groups (1-5) preferred.
  • Must have instructor experience to support the development and execution of a training program for UAS Operators for S&T testing and demonstration activities.
  • Beyond visual line of sight operations.
  • Manned-unmanned teaming; particularly multi-ship UAS and launched effects operations.
  • Designing, fabricating, testing, maintaining, and operating experimental UAS (at a minimum Class 2 UAS)
  • Autonomous operations of UAS platforms particularly artificial-intelligence/machine-learning software
  • Payloads: Electrical optical (EO), Infrared (IR)-MWIR/LWIR/SWIR, Electrical Warfare (EW)
  • Military ground and air concepts of operation for UAS
  • Airspace design and operating requirements
  • Developing and maintaining UAS flight records and UAS training materials
  • Ability to pass an FAA Class II flight physical annually.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.
