We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Entry Specialist to join a fast-paced pathology billing team

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the billing process by entering patient information and pathology test data into an electronic system. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial records and ensuring timely claim submissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information into billing software.
  • Review and input pathology test data, including diagnoses and procedure codes, using a standardized coding system (e.g., CPT, HCPCS).
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of all entered data.
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies found in patient information or test results.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for billing records.
  • Assist with generating patient statements and invoices.
  • May answer phones and address basic patient billing inquiries with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in billing procedures and coding guidelines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations regarding patient data confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in data entry or a similar role.
  • Excellent typing skills and data entry accuracy (minimum 40 wpm).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Additional info:

  • After the contract period ends the client will hire you on permanently and cover medical benefits 100% .
  • You receive a raise when you convert to a permanent employee after the contract period.

Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire

Pay: $16.00 per hour
