Nature and Scope: Performs installation of cured pull in place line and coating while effectively communicating with lining technicians in the service territory and ensures all systems are followed. Performs all operations according to company standards to include: inventory tracking, safety, customer service, technical, equipment, and training. Minimum of 1-2 years experience of Hydro Jet and lining.
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the installation of liner, coating, hydrojet, and the video inspection of all installation with in the service territory. This position leads the lining technicians with regards to inventory, safety, customer service satisfaction and installation of liners. Reports to the Sales and Operational Manager. Sound judgment and a positive attitude are required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership
- Maintains responsibility for placement of water, storm and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation.
- Leads and trains new Lining Technicians as directed by the Excavation/Underground Utilities Manager.
- Follows directions of ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement and grading.
- Attends and participates in weekly meetings (i.e. role play, safety training, technical training, etc.)
- Provides an active voice and formally suggests new practices, policies and procedures to enhance to services of the company.
- Acts in a courteous manner in order to project a positive company image.
- Shares the mission, vision and values with all employees, customers and stakeholders.
- Follows all company uniforms and appearance standards.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Reports to installer, calling attention to any irregularities in soil conditions or materials being used.
- Shows observance of the condition of the equipment and materials used to ensure company standards are met and promptly reports any possible problems or defects.
- Communicates with Sales/Operational Manager to ensure that appropriate licensing and certifications for all jobs are obtained where required by city or state governments.
- Communicates with Sales/Operational Manager to ensure all work is performed in accordance with state, city, and all local codes and ensures all products and installations are compliant with all manufacture specifications.
- Communicates with customers and crew manager about job progress.
- Ensures the work site is properly set according to all company standards and procedures.
- Tracks inventory of all materials, tracks and restocks/orders as needed.
- Ensures that that sewer lines are evaluated by a camera before and after lining, coating, or hydrojetting.
- Understands and complies with the Lining Technician Checklist.
- Assists the Plumber in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade.
- Operates machinery in an efficient manner to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Operates numerous machines with various controls (i.e. 12,000 lbs. mini excavator).
- Maintains the ability to operate a dump truck with a trailer with a machine.
- Ensures all equipment, vehicles and excavators are being properly inspected and maintained.
- Performs tasks in tight spaces around live utilities.
- Ensures trench is excavated to proper depth and grade.
- Conducts trench work to OSHA requirements.
- Performs measurements and calculates all materials needed.
- Performs excavation installations and repairs by excavating ground to gain access to plumbing systems by the following methods: jackhammer, saw cutting and digging.
- Performs daily soil classifications and shows awareness of changes in soil conditions and materials that impact operations.
