Staff Accountant

Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a respected and growing construction company in Victor, NY to recruit a Senior Accountant.

Position Summary:

The Controller is seeking a self-starting accountant to assist with accounting functions, including preparing and posting journal entries, financial reporting, and assisting with the closing process. The successful candidate will be highly detailed and organized, a problem-solver, and a strong attention to detail looking to continue to develop and grow professionally.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for general accounting functions, including preparing and posting journal entries, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, income statement, and profit loss statements.
• Ensuring monthly bank reconciliations are completed timely and accurately. Reporting issues, if any, to the Controller.
• Processing bank deposits.
• Managing A/P invoicing, including inspecting invoices/expense reports, distributing for coding, entering, resolving any discrepancies, and payment processing.
• Managing A/R process.
• Assisting with month-end close and year-end audit process.
• Maintaining a strong knowledge of accept accounting practices and procedures.
• Other related tasks/projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required, Bachelors degree is preferred.
• 2 or more years of related accounting experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient knowledge of general financial accounting and ability to adhere and understand GAAP.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
