Position Summary:

The Admitting Supervisor will monitor the hospital-wide admissions system to assure compliance with policies and procedures.  Will observe, monitor, and assess performance of personnel responsible for admissions.  Will coordinate performance improvement requirements to assure quality outcomes and positive and efficient admissions and patient flow.  Will develop education programs and plan for admissions processes, identify and provide instruction to all admissions personnel to maintain quality, legal and efficient  outcomes.  Communicates with Directors and other management staff to assure patient needs are met.


Qualifications:

Prefer two years college education or equivalent; business degree preferred, with coursework related to Hospital Admission or Patient Accounting.  Requires Two (2) years experience in healthcare patient registration, or billing, related to hospital patients.  Requires minimum one (1) year experience in supervisory role.  Requires expertise in computer applications in the medical field, Healthcare payor types, i.e. Medicare, Medi-Cal and insurance program rules and regulations, and  Accreditation standards.  Requires knowledge of admissions and patient accounting, medical terminology, accounting principles and procedures.

Requires good written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.  Bilingual – Spanish and English preferred.
