THE ROLE
The swim instructor is responsible for the swimming instruction as assigned in the aquatics program. Swim Lessons vary in length from 30 to 45 minutes and consists of eight classes and run Monday through Thursday. Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, teaches swim lesson sessions, ensuring the safety and well-being of each child. Leads warm ups, skills, drills and appropriately demonstrates each skill to be performed. Performs regular safety checks and ensures swimming lesson is safe at all times. Helps to set up and break down stations and equipment in an organized manner. Arrives 15 minutes before first scheduled class of the day to familiarize self with the lesson plan and teaching stations.


SCHEDULE

June – August; During summer pool season

Mornings and/or evenings; Additional training hours may be required

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
What does it take to succeed in this role? We’re looking for a motivated individual with strong time management skills and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in swimming and should enjoy working with children/have the ability to effectively communicate with both children and adults. Must be at least 15 years of age. Training and certification is available for selected candidates.
