Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Freeport, Illinois

Type: Full-time, In-office


About the Role:

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team in Freeport, Illinois. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working autonomously, but also thrives in a team environment. You will be responsible for performing maintenance on plant manufacturing equipment and electrical systems, designing and installing equipment retrofits, and training plant maintenance technicians in electrical troubleshooting and repair. This is primarily a first-shift position with the expectation of being on call for plant breakdowns.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Repair equipment and plant electrical systems
  • Test electronic components and systems
  • Design equipment upgrades
  • Build machine control panels


Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to program AC and DC drives
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, especially with Siemens PLCs
  • Experience operating a wide range of electrical test equipment (multimeters, power monitors, infrared imaging tools, etc.)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician or Electronics Technician


Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime as needed
