Overview

The Lead Advisor role is responsible for managing existing client relationships and formulating and implementing advice. The role also serves the firm as a business developer and is responsible for attracting new client relationships to the firm. The role oversees and trains other advisors and staff to facilitate the delivery of excellent client service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Service and Relationship Management

Manages client relationships assigned by the firm and helps clients achieve their wealth goals.

Makes critical client decisions such as creating or reviewing financial plans, implementing investment policies and strategies, and recommending investment products.

Leads the implementation of planning decisions and assigns client service steps to the team.

Builds strong relationships with clients and communicates proactively and consistently with clients to identify changes to their financial lives and needs that should be met.

May serve on the firms Investment Committee.

Team Management and Staff Development

Supervises the work of other advisors and coordinates administrative support in the delivery of client service.

Provides consistent and constructive feedback to other professionals on the client service team.

Participates in the training and mentoring of the professional staff.


Business Development

Seeks opportunities to grow existing client relationships through increased wallet share.

Engages with clients to create referral opportunities from existing clients.

Develops specialized knowledge and personal presence in a defined market that aligns with the strategy of the firm.

Develops and executes a personal business plan in support of the firm-level business plan and growth goals.

Proactively develops a network of contacts in the professional community that can create opportunities for new relationships in support of firm growth.

Markets the firm and develops its reputation with referral sources and the community.

Attracts new clients to the firm.

Strong client service skills.

Demonstrated management experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee support and service advisors.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

4-year degree


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Has advanced industry certification such as the CFP or is willing to pursue the certification while acting in this capacity.
