Warehouse Manager Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Reports To: GM

Department: Warehouse


Basic Function: The function of the warehouse manager at a basic level is to efficiently oversee/assist in restocking supplies and ensure that techs/plumbers have adequate supplies to perform jobs.


Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate with install manager and salesperson to prepare materials for jobs
  • Make sure all materials and equipment for jobs are ordered and in the warehouse prior to the job installation date
    • Communicate incomplete orders prior to install date
  • Make sure all jobs are pulled for the date required
    • Match equipment model/serial numbers with pull sheet. Communicate any discrepancies.
  • Help in a.m. with getting the field personnel out of the shop
    • Get any parts they need for their jobs for the day
    • Communicate with CSRs/Dispatcher on parts ordering/scheduling repair jobs
  • Complete and submit warranty paperwork. Follow through with warranty process and ensure that claims are accepted/paid out
  • Support plumbing/hvac service and contract departments by pulling and staging all necessary parts/equipment as needed for jobs
  • Enter inventory/job information in computer
  • Vehicle maintenance (wash, oil change, brakes, tires, fluids, etc)
  • Answer phones when needed
  • Check in product from suppliers and stock/re-stock items as needed
    • Screen shipments for damages prior to accepting
  • Train and coach warehouse personnel in proper safety and material handling procedures
  • Hire, manage, discipline, and terminate warehouse personnel
  • Other tasks as requested by GM and Owner/CEO


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to accurately enter information in the computer
  • Ability to represent Fulkerson Plumbing & AC in a professional manner with customers, vendors, staff, and the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and managers
  • Must have valid drivers’ license and a good driving record
  • Adaptability – the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events



Working Conditions: This position works in both the office and the warehouse. Must occasionally travel to meet customers or vendors. Adherence to safety policy and driving policy is vital. The office environment is controlled and maintained in a safe manner.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate machinery such as scissor lift, forklift, etc.

Mental Requirements: Self motivated and able to handle rapidly changing priorities and several tasks simultaneously. Must be able to respond to difficult situations with customers and co-workers with high level of professionalism. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and co-workers. Must be able to follow safety guidelines at all times. Must have ability to manage and lead effectively

Internal Relationships: Communicates and interacts with employees on all levels in the office. Sets an  example for employees in the company.

External Relationships: The title will have a high level of contact with customers and vendors, and will be required to maintain professional communication and appearance at all times during work hours
