CEC Motor and Utility Services has an immediate opportunity for a CDL Class A or B Driver at our Service Center in Palmetto, FL. This a full-time opportunity and will be responsible for Pick-up/Delivery as well as loading/unloading trucks as needed.


Trucking freight handling:

  • Load using forklift, overhead cranes, and truck-mounted hydraulic cranes.
  • Secure heavy (over 1000 pounds) unusual/odd-shaped freight by hand.

 

Type of Freight:

  • All sizes of rotating apparatus including electric motors up to 2000 hp, sewage pumps with sewage residue present.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, and lift 50 lbs.


Work Environment:

  • Temperature-controlled vehicle and shop.


Reporting Relationships:

  • The CDL Driver reports to the General Manager.


Hours

  • Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)


Pay Frequency

  • Weekly


FLSA Status:

  • Non-Exempt

Compensation:

$18 - $24 hourly

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver as instructed.
  • Use a truck with a crane to make deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
  • Perform safety checks on vehicles and cargo to ensure road readiness.
  • Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
  • Interact professionally with customers and or crews at job sites.
  • Keeps vehicle and any work areas clean and orderly.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Manual Transmission endorsement, DOT medical certificate, and acceptable MVR.
  • 3 years of verifiable Class A driving experience within the past 5 years.
  • Traffic Laws/DOT/FMCSA regulation knowledge.
  • Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, and lift 50 pounds without difficulty.
  • Must be dependable and consistently report to work on time.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Will be required to pass initial drug test, and random testing afterward.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  5 years of verifiable Class A or B driving experience.
