Diversified Companies is looking to hire an Automotive Mechanic for our company wide fleet. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for routine, as well as emergency, maintenance on the company trucks to keep them running in a safe and efficient manner. The vehicles would range from passenger vehicles to box trucks. Would need to be able to keep track of paperwork and scheduling of truck maintenance.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Conducts repairs and preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment
  • Maintains a safe work environment for all employees. Follows and enforces above standard safety practices
  • Inspects trucks and equipment for conformance with operational standards
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems
  • Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters
  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
  • Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
  • Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs, oil changes, and DOTs
  • Keeping an updated list of all vehicle maintenance
  • Schedule the trucks to come in to the shop for any repairs or services
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Requirements


  • Electrical troubleshooting of systems, motors, controllers, and pneumatics
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine breakdown, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance-related reports and correspondence
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Ability to effectively communicate and carry out instructions
  • Knowledge of electrical/mechanical safety practices
  • Ability to maintain and handle multiple functions/tasks relating to day-to-day operations
  • Is punctual, dependable, and able to show up for work as scheduled
  • Valid Driver's License & Good Driving Record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • A want to learn and grow within a growing company
