UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Staff Physician - OB/GYN Maternal Fetal Medicine for the Department of OB GYN at the University Of New Mexico School of Medicine. This opportunity is a PRN (0.01FTE) position located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate OB/GYN Maternal Fetal Medicine Staff Physician to join our dedicated healthcare team. As an integral member of our Obstetrics and Gynecology department, you will provide specialized care to pregnant patients with high-risk conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and managing complex maternal fetal conditions to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and the baby..

Minimum Job Requirements of a Physician - OB/GYN

MD or equivalent with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

  • Medical degree and completion of a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Valid medical license to practice as an OB/GYN in New Mexico
  • Proven experience in providing comprehensive care to high-risk pregnancies
  • Strong knowledge of maternal fetal medicine, diagnostic testing, and treatment options
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
  • Ability to make critical decisions and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Duties and Responsibilities of a Physician - OB/GYN:

  • Conduct comprehensive consultations and thorough evaluations of pregnant patients with complex maternal fetal conditions
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and technologies to monitor the health and development of both the mother and the baby
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on the individual needs and risks of each patient
  • Coordinate care with other specialists, including genetic counselors, perinatologists, and neonatologists
  • Provide evidence-based counseling and education to patients and their families regarding pregnancy complications and potential interventions
  • Perform various procedures and interventions, such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal blood transfusions
  • Monitor the progress and outcomes of interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Actively participate in research and academic activities, such as publications and presentations
